Maxwell has been a hairdresser for over 20 years, working both behind the chair and as an educator. He began his hairdressing career within the Toni & Guy USA Salon Network and quickly became known for his precision and quality, eventually earning the position of Technical Art Director. From there he worked with several major manufacturers such as It&ly Hairfashion, Joico, Matrix, and L’Oreal Professionnel--traveling the United States as an artist and educator and working alongside industry luminaries such as Nicholas French, Nancy Braun and Beth Minardi.
In 2005 he partnered with the Aveda Institutes Florida as an Advanced Education trainer, developing and implementing the educational curriculum for the prestigious Aveda Institute Master's Studio program. In 2007 Max made a lateral move into the Aveda Salon network and worked as the Training Manager for Level Salons Inc., developing and implementing Level's in-salon training program, mentoring, and developing new stylists as well as working behind the chair with a diverse clientele. In 2009 Max decided to created his own salon culture by establishing the Disco Dolls Studio. Here here worked behind the chair as well as promoting and building the Disco Dolls brand.
