December is a time of reflection for many of us and, as I look back at 2017, I've realized what a huge turning point this year has been for me personally. I've learned so much - about myself and in my life. Here are three important life lessons this year has taught me:
- Never fear change. This year taught me that, while making changes can scary, sometimes it's necessary. It's safe to say that I'm a creature of habit. I don't like when anything is out of place or different, which can lead me to be a little indecisive at times. Deciding to take a leap of faith and join Bow & Arrow in May was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. It allowed me to blossom in my career and take a huge leap I never thought I could.
- Take care of yourself and listen to your body. When you’re feeling run down, rest. You can’t pour out of an empty cup and feeling burnt out is not fun. Carving out time each week to incorporate self-care into my routine has helped me have stronger, more productive days.
- Live in the moment and be grateful. Spending time with loved ones and family has been something I’ve been trying to do a lot more frequently. It’s easy to get caught up in life and day-to-day routines. Putting my phone down more and being present to what’s in front of me has allowed me to not take things for granted.
I'm so excited to start a new year, but even more than grateful for how my life has changed in 2017!
