Finding Time for Self-care

Finding a balance with work, exercise, sleep and taking care of yourself has always been a struggle for me. I tend to keep going until I burn myself out. For the past couple months, I have been incorporating a day of self-care during the week (usually on a day off) where I take time to do all the things I love.

Using essential oils is one of the things that has helped so much in finding balance. Turning on my diffuser with a certain blend to help me sleep better is what I look forward to each night. Recently I’ve been sleeping with peace and calming or Idaho blue spruce. Those are my favorites to fall asleep to. It has been life-changing!


I also love taking baths with oils and different bath salts. I have been using Epsom salts with lavender oils, which is so soothing – especially after a long day being on my feet. If you don’t have a tub, you can always do a foot soak, which is also very relaxing!

Reading is another thing I love to do. I’m trying to find time to do that more, even if it’s just for a half an hour before bed. I’m currently reading Brain on Fire. It’s a memoir they are turning into a film soon. I’m almost done and haven’t been able to put it down.

Self-care is so important and gives me something to look forward to. It helps me start my week feeling ready and motivated with a clear mind! When you start your week with a clear mind, it helps you achieve your goals, show up and be present, and tackle what life may throw at you.
